Senior Manager, Advertising Operations
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, self-starter to join our Ad Operations team. The ideal candidate is a proven executor with experience in the online advertising industry. Leading a team, trafficking ad campaigns, implementing new technology, and communicating with executive management will be part of your day-to-day activities. This position requires hands on experience in technologies used to support online advertising operations, ad serving, audience management tools, inventory applications, HTML, Flash, and third-party ad tags. This individual will also be responsible for the design and management of the internal workflow for trafficking campaigns, discrepancy investigation, and the deployment of new ad products; particularly the evaluation, selection, and implementation of ad serving technologies. The right applicant will also be required to manage and develop best practices and standard operating procedures for improvement and scalability of workflow processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ad trafficking, reporting, and quality control.
- Advertising operations-related product management.
- Requirements definition for new products and features.
- Process definition and workflow management.
- Structure and manage relationships with third party content and technology partners.
- Initiative and consistent track record of superior problem solving and customer service.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing online operations for a publisher, large ad agency, or ad network.
- Strong knowledge of 3rd party ad servers like DART, Atlas, 24/7, and OpenX working with enterprise CRM system(s) such as SalesForce.
- Industry knowledge of third party ad serving programs, behavioral targeting and rich media vendors.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships including experience in price negotiations and opening of new vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of the online advertising industry best practices, trends and pricing models including yield management, revenue and billing.
- Ability to compile and analyze data to make recommendations on optimizations.
- Experience with communicating with sales, client services, developers and product.
- Ability to develop and communicate a focus & vision for Ad Operations.
- Highly organized manager, with demonstrated ability to create and administer complex campaign schedules.
- Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude.
- Strong technical understanding of online advertising tools and the ad network and exchange eco-system, including: display, pay per click, and cost per action models; reporting and analytics suites; ad servers and enabling technologies; and ad agencies.
- Strong business acumen, including the ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills towards development of product strategy and solutions to day-to-day issues.
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional groups.
- Proven ability or desire to thrive and excel in a startup environment.
- BA/BS required.
Manager, Publisher Business Development
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, self-starter to join our Business Development team. This person should be a results-driven individual who is passionate about sales, developing partnerships, and looking for an environment that is full of opportunity.
You will be responsible for business development with both medium and large traffic partners including advertising networks as well as web sites. Mpire specializes in helping web publishers of all types generate new revenue streams through our ad network technology platform and tool sets that help publishers optimize and track results.
This individual will be charged with identifying revenue-generating partnership opportunities, getting in touch with high-level decision makers, selling these companies on our products, structuring deals, as well as negotiating and closing agreements. This job requires a passion for developing new business and consistent, thorough prospecting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities with web publishers
- Consult with web publishers on their strategic plans and creatively flesh out potential advertising integrations
- Generate a high volume of sales-related activity; including cold calling, meetings, demos / presentations and RFP’s
- Drive company revenue through filling ad inventory, and close long-term new business contracts with top-tier publishers
- Provide strategic feedback from web publishers and the marketplace to create new products and foster innovation
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of online ad networks, including media buys and revenue share deals
- Must possess superb written and verbal communication skills
- Must have excellent closing & presentation skills
- Proven track record of success in online media sales
- Must be highly motivated and a team player
- Excels in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM software such as Salesforce.com
- Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience selling Internet, partnerships, direct marketing or promotional advertising.
